Kembys Valentine`s Day Acoustic Live

Hiroshima Japan
February 14, 2006
Mark Harrison and Myself
8pm - 12pm
Songs for Lonely Hearts and Lovers

Tomo, the manager, gave me my first gig of my own in Japan. Mark and I did two sets each. Then we jammed a bit together at the end. We had some trouble hearing ourselves on stage - which is always my worst fear come true. But overall, the house sound was great, the night was good fun and a success. The owner stopped in for a moment and seemed happy to see the bar full on a tuesday. Some friends showed up, some couples having their valentine`s dinner, some regulars, etc.

I played some Wilco, Dylan, Beck, JJ Cale, Tom Petty and a few of my own. Mark played some Grateful Dead, Dylan, Petty, Neil Young, etc. and a few of his own. It was that type of night. We also did Clapton`s Wonderful Tonight as the Valentine`s song of the night - it`s a karaoke favorite here in Japan

.

Thanks to Shuichi, Vernon, Kate, Emma, Madaka, Sachiko, MC, Mac and Yukari - for the show of support. Thanks to Tomo - our gracious host, and the awesome staff at Kembys!
