The Shack Anniversary Party
The Shack Anniversary Party
March 1st, 2006
Hiroshima, Japan
I haven`t been sent many photos from this one yet - which is a bit strange for Japan, where photography is just about everyone`s hobby.
This is Tomo`s Band - jammin` out.
There were quite a few groups. Lion`s Den, New Port, Hiroshima Head Band, Mark Harrison, The Shack Staff Band. I started at 10:30 and played a 45 min. set - solo acoustic.
The highlight of the night was the Nepalese Curry prepared for everyone by Prakash - shack bartender extraordinaire. Almost 300 tickets were sold. I`d never seen that many people in the shack. The shack is normally a pub and grill - so the stage was makeshift, in the middle of the bar. By the time i played, everyone seemed really drunk - plenty of incherent shouts between songs. In that sense it reminded me a bit of the old University gigs. One guy sang some Bruce Springsteen and proposed to his wife between songs. She took the ring and bowed to him. Is that a yes or a no?
This is Bud`s band.
Thanks to all who showed up to support. Yukari, Vernon, Kate, Mark, Shuichi, Aiko, Emma.
